From 2006-2017 Amherst High School dominated Class D wrestling. During that 12 year period, Amherst accumulated 8 State Championships, 4 State Runner-up finishes plus winning the first 5 State Dual titles after NSAA initiated the Dual Championships in 2013. The Broncos crowned 21 State Individual Champions during that time. Tyler Herman was the Head Coach during this historical run except for the final 2017 season. The 2017 season was coached by a former Amherst State Champion, Chase Klingelhoefer.
