The consensus athlete of the year as a senior, Ted Butler wreaked havoc on the football field and the wrestling mat, and he carried a big stick on the baseball diamond. A two-time state champion heavyweight wrestler, he compiled a 111-19 record, losing only one match after his sophomore year.Playing center and defensive line, he twice garnered all-state honors and was named the defensive player of the year. A two-year starter on the baseball diamond, Butler led the Knights in doubles and home runs as a sophomore. After a year with the Nebraska Cornhuskers, he transferred to Boise State where he started at center for two years.
