Stephanie (Streeks) Ruffridge rewrote all the record books at Gering High School before earning a national-championship ring with the Long Beach State volleyball team. A three-sport standout with a 30-inch vertical leap, she earned all-state honors in volleyball and basketball and gold medals at the state track meet. She established Class A high school volleyball records for blocks in a match (22) and in a season. On the volleyball court she established Nebraska high school records for blocks in a match and in a season and was a unanimous three-time all-conference selection. In basketball, she graduated with five school records including season and career points. And in track, she won two all-class gold medals in the high jump. At Long Beach State, she shared team co-captaincy with three-time Olympic gold medalist Misty May.
