SUSAN JOHNSON

NORTH PLATTE-1987

Susan Johnson showed her prowess at North Platte as a three-year starter in volleyball and basketball.  All-state in volleyball, she set a school record for ace serves.  She set four career records in basketball and qualified for the state track meet in the discus.  Her best sport, which was not yet a high school sport, was softball.  Signed by Kearney State, she was a two-time All-American pitcher who led the Lopers to the 1990 national championship.  She was on the mound for the five national tournament games and won the MVP award.  She finished her college career with an 85-20 record, 919 strikeouts and ERA under 1.00.
