ELKHORN SOUTH
Girls’ golfers at Elkhorn and Elkhorn South thrived with Mimi Ramsbottom as their coach. Starting with a decade at Elkhorn before moving to Elkhorn South when it opened in 2010, her teams were Eastern Midlands Conference champions 15 years in a row, district champions 10 times, state champions in 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2017 and runners-up in 2010 and 2013 and in the top ten at state 27 times. Three golfers were state champions. Her head-to-head coaching record was 1877-309. The Grand Island and UNL graduate was enshrined in 2024 in the National High School Athletic Coaches Associations Hall of Fame.
