Alex Henery- Omaha Burke

All-State in soccer and football and the state’s 2006 Gatorade Soccer Player of the Year, Alex Henery was the 2010 Associated Press All-America place-kicker and left Nebraska as its all-time scoring leader in football and the most accurate field-goal kicker in NCAA history. At Burke, Henery was a three-year starter as a kicking specialist, making All-State as a junior and senior. He averaged more than 41 yards per punt and connected on 6 of 10 field goals and 37 of 38 extra points as a senior. He turned down a soccer scholarship to Creighton to walk on at NU. With the Huskers, Alex scored 397 points in his four seasons – his signature kick was his 57-yarder against Colorado in 2008 – and averaged 42.2 yards on 147 career punts. He kicked for the NFL’s Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles.
