Chris Kelsay made his mark year-round at Auburn High School, earning all-state honors as a junior and senior in football and basketball and winning medals at the state track meet. Playing defensive line, linebacker and tight end, he led Auburn to the state semifinals as a junior then recorded 142 tackles and 14 sacks as a senior. On the basketball court, he averaged 16 points and 8.4 rebounds per game during a 17-3 senior season. Shot put proved to be his premier event in track and field as he placed in the top five twice. He joined the University of Nebraska football team where he played in 43 games over four years, earning All-Big 12 and All-American honors. The Buffalo Bills drafted Kelsay in the second round of the 2003 NFL Draft, leading to a 10-year career with the Bills.
