FALLS CITY SACRED HEART-COACH
Since 1987, Doug Goltz’s teams in football, boys’ basketball and boys and girls track have produced 30 state championships. The first coach in boys’ basketball to reach 700 wins, his career record is 736-198 with an 11-0 record in state finals. His football teams are a combined 341-69 with an 8-0 record in state finals. The Irish’s 87 consecutive wins (1989-95) and six consecutive state title (1989-94) are state records. As head track coach at his alma mater, his boy’s teams have won seven state titles and girls four. He was enshrined in 2024 in the National High School Athletic Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame and has been name the state’s boys coach of the year by both major newspapers.
