Coach
Jerry Cover’s golf teams at Norfolk seldom were out of championship contention. Over his 37 years with the Panthers – he coached both boys and girls for 20 years -his teams were Class Agirls state champions three times and he retired after his 2019 Class A boys state championship team. Norfolk was state runner-up 11 times. A native of Minden, he taught and coached in his hometown for five years before entering private business for two years. He re-entered the education field in 1982. In 2013 he was a finalist for national golf coach of the year.
