Jody Rhodes- Paxton

Nearly 1,100 victories in two sports. It’s an enviable record Jody Rhodes compiled in volleyball and basketball at Paxton before his retirement after the 2021-22 school year. His teams were State Champions in volleyball five times and twice in boys’ basketball. The Exeter native came to Paxton in 1985 after starting his career at Emerson-Hubbard. He coached girls’ basketball for his first three years (43-11) at Paxton before switching to boys (563-215). The Tigers were Class C-1 State Champions in 1995 and 2000 and runners-up in 1999 and 2013. His volleyball tenure ran from 1992-2018, with a 487-161 record. Paxton was State Champion in D-1 in 1994 and 2003 and in D-2 in 2002, 2004 and 2007 and was runner-up in 2005. Jody was the 2004 World-Herald Girls’ Coach of the Year.
