Megan was born premature, weighing only 2 pounds.  After overcoming several health issues, including a blood infection, pneumonia, and organ failure, she received a tracheotomy and recovered while in a drug induced coma.  At 2 1/2 years of age, she was finally free of wires, tubes, and monitors.  She took the words of one of her assistant coaches, Dean Farley, to heart when he told the team to “strive to be the hardest working kid in the gym.”  Still with only 70% lung capacity, Megan was captain of her volleyball team and was a defensive specialists-serving at 97%.  Her senior year she only missed 12 of 399 serves and had 42 aces.  Megan graduated in 2020 with a 4.0 GPA and currently is a pre-med student at UNK.
