TIM CANNON

OMAHA BRYAN/MILLARD NORTH

The best came at the last for Tim Cannon, who retired in 2022 as the dean of Metro Conference boys basketball coaches. Back-to-back Class A state championships at Millard North, both against Bellevue West in a memorable era with Division I talent deep on both teams, capped his 40-year career. Previously, the Benedictine College graduate, who followed his father into coaching, took teams to state finals at Omaha Cathedral in 1983, Bryan in 2011 and Millard North in 2020. Cannon’s career record was 539-375 – 42-27 at Cathedral, 359-261 at Bryan and 138-87 in nine seasons at Millard North. He was named coach of the year by the Omaha World-Herald in 2021 and Lincoln Journal Star in 2022.
