Darrell Hoffman- Beatrice

After 26 years as an assistant football coach at Beatrice – Darrel Hoffman became girls golf coach in 1987 and built a powerhouse on the course. His teams qualified for the state tournament in 26 of his 27 seasons before his retirement after the 2013 season. They were Class B State Champions in 1990 (the first state title for the school in any sport in more than 30 years), 1992, 2005 and 2007 and runners-up in 1989, 2003, 2006 and 2008. There were 14 district titles and 12 conference titles. Darrel also was an assistant track coach for 44 seasons, mostly working with the pole vaulters. The native of Hadar, Nebraska, and graduate from nearby Pierce, was the Nebraska Coaches Association’s girls’ golf coach of the year in 2007.
