Girls Basketball- “The 1987-88 Gibbon Girls Basketball Team.”
- In the Class C-1 State Championship game, the second-ranked Gibbon girls (24-0) had been behind #1 ranked Fremont Bergan (25-0) for the entire game; however, with Bergan leading 46-42 with 22 seconds left, the Gibbon girls outscored Bergan 5-0 and won 47-46, thus accomplishing a special come from behind victory to remain undefeated while becoming State Champions.
